The Novel, “Gaslight Club”
Well, I’m trying something I have always wanted to do, writing. The first Novel is about a Night Club “The Torch Light Club”. The novel begins with the primary character starting off his life. He worked at wedding photography during high school and loved it, but, as a life’s work it did not pay very well. After all, you could only do so many weddings, when you had only the weekend to do them. He also does not like doing “baby photography” which is what most studios do during the week. The primary character is named Angelo Cataldo, after my beloved grandfather. The original Angelo was a very talented, entirely self taught, “Jack of all Trades”. He could build a house from the leach field to the roof and beyond, and that was one of his minor talents.
In the book the main character worked his way from a small neighborhood restaurant to a big city night club.
After several years in the small restaurant and a measure of success he decided to sell out and go back to school, this time for video photography. This plan was interrupted to help out a friend and the night club became the plan. After learning the business and making many friends a run in with a local Mafia thug side tracked his future plans and moved him in another direction. He went on to add a detective agency to the already busy schedule of the night club. This leads to an interesting encounter with a MA legislator, his family and a Western Mass. college. Then comes the vacation from hell with the love of his life, a Puerto Rican prison, and a shaky recovery. From a near death experience, he almost caught lead poisoning, specifically lead traveling at 1000 meters a second....
Hopefully Mr. Cataldo will return.
