Long Distance Romance Or Some men will do anything for sex!
Paul Calamari was into studying the Mayans and his wife Mary liked to go along for the ride. Paul arranged a trip to Guatemala, to look up family he still has living there, he hoped`` to fill in his genealogy. Sometimes they would visit Guatemala City, other times one of the ports, but mostly they would visit Quirigua, a Mayan culture center. On the last trip to Quirigua, they were treated to a re-enactment of ancient Mayan ceremonies including dancing. One of the dancers, a very attractive young lady noticed Paul and smiled at him. From Paul’s clothes it was easy to see he’s an American and young people in Guatemala generally tried to be friendly to Americans, in the hope the Americans would sponsor them into the United States. This young lady, Maria Angela Roldan, made sure Paul and his wife noticed her by dancing in front of them and otherwise staying close. After the dancing Maria Angela approached Paul and his wife Mary and introduced herself. She let them know she was available to become a Nanny or other domestic servant if it meant moving to the United States. This Maneuver was typical of what the children did to get noticed. However, Maria Angela went one step further and made sure Paul knew she would be especially good to him. During the night she told him to meet her in the garden of his hotel, after he and his wife went to bed, she had some special things to discuss with him. Paul, being a randy and hopeful fellow agreed to the meeting. At the meeting Maria Angela didn’t waste any time, she had worn a single colorful wrap and a pair of sandals, as they talked she removed the wrap and began undressing Paul. Apprehensive at first, Paul quickly became aroused and got into the spirit of the meeting. A few minutes later, with sugar plums dancing in his head Paul went to bed and dreamed some amazing dreams for the first time in many years. Although he and his wife are relatively happy together they do not enjoy a sexual relationship. That went out of the marriage many years ago. Now theirs would be called an open marriage, each finding their own sexual partners, just not each other.
Over the next several days Maria Angela got close to Mary during the day and Paul at night. Before Paul and Mary left Guatemala Maria Angela asked them if she could become there live in maid and take care of them. She didn’t want any pay, just to see the United States and to learn English better. At this point Mary was aware that Paul and Maria Angela had a sexual relationship and she did not see that as a problem.
After some serious discussion Mary agreed it would be a good thing and arrangements were made. Maria Angela could not go back with them but would follow them shortly. Her arrival in the United States was cause for a party and Paul and Mary had many of their friends over to celebrate. Paul’s friends were jealous of Paul, seeing a beautiful girl living in his house as a wonderful thing. But, Mary’s friends weren’t so sure of this arrangement. They all said two women in a house is not a good idea. Mary didn’t catch their meaning and thought they were all jealous of her. The day after the party Maria Angela cleaned the entire house and was very helpful to both Paul and Mary. Later that night she was even more helpful to Paul as they made love more than once. Mary had committee meetings to attend and charities she is on the board of, so for the next few days Mary was very busy. Paul, on the other hand, took time off to get Maria Angela acquainted with their town. From the second day Maria Angela made sure that after sex with Paul, he took her to clothes and jewelry stores where she could find things she liked and he would buy them for her. Without noticing what was happening Paul got into the habit of buying Maria Angela nice little things after they had sex. Sometimes she would jump into his bed in the morning and get him raging hot and as soon as he was spent she dragged him out of the house to find some new trinket, perfume, make-up or other item he could buy her. At first Mary was glad Paul took all the tasks of driving Maria Angela around and taking her to doctors and dentists and whatever else she needed leaving Mary free to do whatever she wanted. The English classes became a problem because, before Maria Angela arrived it was agreed between Mary and Paul that Mary would drive Maria Angela around during the day, at least to these classes so Paul could work. However, that did not happen. Mary was always busy with something else forcing Maria Angela to be driven around by Paul.
Paul couldn’t understand what the problem was with Mary; she left Maria Angela with him all the time. She never once drove Maria Angela to her English class.
To show Mary she could cook, Maria Angela decided to cook some local Guatemala specialties from her home town of Quirigua which required her to take over the kitchen. Stepping aside Mary watched Maria Angela cook and decided she didn’t have to cook any more. Of course this became a problem very fast since Maria Angela had a limited recipe list and didn’t like that she was now a cook. During this change Mary also decided to get a job in a local beauty parlor where some of her friends went for their hair, leaving Paul and Maria Angela totally alone every day. Mary quickly became engrossed in the beauty parlor and started getting home very late. She made it a habit after leaving work to stop by the owners house every night and spend several hours there smoking and drinking By the time she got home it was time to sleep and some nights she went directly from the front door to her bed and never said a word to anyone in between. The smoking was also a problem because she and Paul quit together several years before, now she smelled like an ash tray all the time.
For a while things became very strained at home. Mary got home late and left early so they did not see each other. A trip came up for a wedding in the family and Paul and Mary where scheduled to attend, but Maria Angela did not want to go. So, leaving Maria Angela at their house Paul and Mary went to the wedding. When they landed in Buffalo there was a message at their hotel from Maria Angela saying someone had broken into the house and she had to move out and go to a hotel for her protection. She was afraid to return so the house was left open and unattended. Paul called the hotel Maria Angela went to, to see if he could calm her down, but she was adamant. He and Mary decided to stay for the wedding and then return, rather than stay the week they had intended. When they finally got back there was nothing wrong with the house, no one had broken in. Apparently Maria Angela heard a tree fall in the yard and decided someone had broken in and ran away abandoning the house.
Maria Angela was scheduled to leave the United States after a three month stay. As the day approached Mary avoided both Paul and Maria Angela and never spoke to them. Consequently she was not aware that Paul had decided to travel to Guatemala with Maria Angela and stay a few days then come right back. The day before Paul and Maria Angela were to leave Mary came home early to say goodbye to Maria Angela and discovered that Paul was leaving also.
What Mary didn’t know was Paul and Maria Angela were lately not getting along, Maria Angela wanted Paul to extend her visit and Paul had had enough. His going along with her was to make sure she left and didn’t come back. However, Mary didn’t see that and thought Paul was leaving her and caused a scene at the airport. In the end Paul and Maria Angela got on the plane. However as their plane was taking off Mary called a divorce lawyer and began immediate proceedings. Also, while Paul was gone Mary cleaned out all the cash from their joint accounts and even took out a loan against their house. Mary was very busy, her and her sister had planned to clean Paul out and leave him with nothing. Mary’s sister Joan told Mary she would get the house, half of their money and Paul would have to give her support for the rest of her life.
Three days later, when Paul arrived home Mary didn’t say anything about the divorce. So, the day after he arrived a sheriffs deputy came to their door and served Paul with divorce papers. When Paul realized what was happening he became very angry and to calm him Mary said, “I just wanted to get your attention.” Paul’s answer was: “You got my attention and you got your self a divorce.”
At first Mary was happy and her lawyer petitioned the court to have Paul removed from their house. Paul did not want to live in the house but also, did not want to be thrown out of his house so he had his lawyer fight the petition. Since there had never been a complaint, there was no threat of violence and the house was big enough to live separately the court denied the petition. However, Paul did move out, and got himself an apartment. All this maneuver did was generate a costly legal fee which Mary later denied instigating.
Paul, also made Mary aware that she would not be living in the house after the divorce. The house was their major asset and it would be sold to split the asset.
After Paul got his own apartment Maria Angela convinced him to let her come back. At first their lives together were pretty good because of the sex, but quickly Maria Angela made sure Paul understood, sex must be paid for and this changed their relationship. At first she got him to put her in his will as his major beneficiary, once she had that she began angling for more. She wanted him to ship her furniture to Guatemala and kitchen utensils and clothes and everything she could think of. Of course Paul could now see what was really happening and very quickly stopped shipping her anything. He also stopped paying for her trips back and forth. At one point Maria Angela got it into her head that Paul’s family was against her and began berating Paul for even talking to his brothers and sisters.
For Paul this was the end. Maria Angela reached a point where everything she wanted Paul had to jump to produce or else. Well, on this particular visit she was using every excuse she could think of to not have sex with him. First, her period took seven days, then it was four days leading up to the period and four days after. Then it was yeast infections, stomach cramps, diarrhea and constipation. Finally, on one trip back Paul had started taking high blood pressure pills which made getting an erection difficult so, Maria Angela said he could not perform as her excuse not to have sex. Well at this Paul decided that was all. After Maria Angela left for Guatemala he changed his will and changed his telephone numbers.
Maria Angela quickly realized she couldn’t reach Paul and decided to travel back to confront him. However, when she got back to the States, she had to produce an American Citizen to vouch for her and used Paul’s name, but he refused. Immigration wouldn’t let her in and she had to go back to Guatemala.
After this Paul began seeing a local woman for companionship and was attempting to put his life back together again. He and Mary had had many problems over the years and both their actions during the last few months made reconciliation between them impossible. Neither one wanted to get back into a relationship with all that baggage. Paul got his life quieted and boring again. He had not found his lady love yet, but he was satisfied with the search, and kept looking.
About four months after Maria Angela’s last attempt to enter the United States Paul was in a local mall when he thought he saw her from across the mall. Now looking closer he decided he had been mistaken and went about his business. On his way home a run-a-way van struck he broadside and did a lot of damage to his car. Luckily he was not hurt at all. The police couldn’t understand how it happened because the stolen van did not have a driver when it hit Paul’s car. Lucky for Paul his car was moving fast and the van hit the back drivers door first then slammed into the drivers door after having lost most of its energy. Paul had window glass in his hair and was very shaken up, but not injured. The damage on his car was so bad the insurance company said it could not be fixed, so Paul had to get a new car.
About a month later he was at home alone watching television when a bullet came through the front window and slammed into the wall above his head. Now Paul began to understand someone was attempting to, either intimidate him or kill him. The local police agreed with this assessment and began an investigation. From where the bullet was fired it would have been easy to hit Paul, that’s why they thought he was being intimidated.
They could not find any immigration entry for Maria Angela so they considered her not involved. Early the next week Paul’s front door was sprayed with gasoline and set afire. Paul got out the back safely but this put him on notice, whoever was making these attempts would not stop.
